Youth Engagement Service

'County Durham Youth Engagement Service prevents offending by helping young people achieve their full potential as active members of their community'.

The County Durham Youth Engagement Service (CDYES) strategic purpose is as follows:

  • To prevent re-offending by children and young people
  • To reduce First Time Entrants to the Youth Justice System
  • To be achieved by delivering specialist interventions
  • Underpinned by safeguarding and public protection
CDYES is part of Extended Services (Children and Young Peoples Service) under single management arrangements. This has enabled closer working between CDYES, Education in the Community (Youth Service), Connexions and Sure Start County Durham - contributing to improved outcomes for young people.
